Students give donations to Ronald McDonald House in Greenville

News

The Beaufort County Association of Nursing Students donated bags and boxes of food to the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina this afternoon.

They have had a donation drive going on for two months, according to the president of BCANS, Makayla Cutler.

Every year, the group picks at least one organization to collaborate with.

Cutler believes the Ronald McDonald House is a great organization to donate to.

“You think of all the teeny tiny babies in the NICU who…their families have to have support,” said Cutler. “So what we’re doing is really crucial to be able to give them that kind of support and the opportunity to stay somewhere that doesn’t cost a lot of money and support their baby.”

According to their website, a Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to call home so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little to no cost.
