Officers with the Greenville Police Department arrested a man in an armed robbery investigation Thanksgiving night.
Police say a 44-year-old man was sitting in his vehicle around 5:00 PM Thursday at the Sheetz on Firetower Road when a suspect got into his vehicle and forced him to drive to the Speedway on Stantonsburg and withdraw cash.
The suspect claimed to have a gun.
The victim went into the store and alerted the cashier what was going on and the cashier called police.
The suspect then fled the scene but was caught not far in the area of Bostic Drive and Whichard Road.
Police have identified the suspect as 27-year-old Marqyuse Utsey. He’s charged with common law robbery and Second-degree kidnapping.
He was booked into the Pitt County Detention Center.
