GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – In this week’s Tech Beat Tuesday, it’s out with the old and in with the new.

That’s the case for the latest iPhone update where you can expect to see some changes to your beloved emoji’s.

Bullets are out and water is in.

In the latest iPhone update, Apple is replacing the pistol emoji with a green water gun.

You could consider it apple’s version of gun control

The change comes after some folks got in trouble with the law because they used the pistol and other weapon emojis in social media posts.

Just last year, an anti-gun violence group even started a campaign targeting Apple to do away with the firearm emoji and it looks like it’s worked.

However, that’s not the only emoji change you’ll see.

A woman detective, construction worker and police officer are just some of the new emoji’s you can expect to see along with new female athletes and a pride flag.

Single parents can also expect to see more family options in the newest update called IOS 10 this fall.

If you can’t wait for the newest update released in just a few months you can download the public beta version now.
