Two in New Bern arrested following seizure of illegal narcotics, stolen property

A woman and a man have been arrested on several drug charges after deputies conducted a search in a house located in New Bern.

Donna K. Salgado, 44, was charged with trafficking opium, conspiracy to sell and deliver cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Craven County Sheriff’s Office said she was known as Donna Henries.

David L. Simmons, 35, of New Bern, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine.

On Sunday, deputies conducted a search warrant in a residence located at 183 Old Vanceboro Road in New Bern.

Deputies said they found illegal narcotics and stolen property.

The stolen property was identified from recent breaking and entering cases in Craven County.

Simmons and Salgado were sent to the Craven County Jail.

Simmons was given a $15,000 bond and Salgado a $550,000 bond.

Deputies said the investigation is still ongoing and that more arrests are expected.
