Greenville police received information on March 3th that the suspect in this case was at the Chicken Shack on Hooker Road.
Police responded and the suspect was taken to the police department where he confessed to the robbery.
The suspect, Jamal Rathel Artis, Age 26, of Greenville, was arrested and charged with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
The case was solved in less than twenty-four hours of the original crime.
It with solved with the assistance of tips from the public, including Crime Stoppers and other citizen information.
The FBI Charlotte Division, Greenville Resident Agency (RA), and GPD Safe Streets Task Force assisted in the investigation and arrest with federal charges being possible in this case.
Artis was confined to the Pitt County Detention Center under a $200,000 bond.
Police are trying to identify a man involved in a robbery at First Citizens Bank Friday afternoon.
The Greenville Police Department received a report of a bank robbery at the First Citizens Bank on 3109 South Memorial Drive on Friday around 2:30 p.m.
Police said the suspect entered the bank and demanded money.
The suspect did not display a weapon but implied that he had one, police said.
According to a release, the suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
