GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Children heading to the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital in Greenville can now get the best care possible thanks to a new transport vehicle.

The Children’s Miracle Network provided the money for the new specialized truck. It has everything from lifesaving medicines to an incubator.

Courtney Tarab’s son experienced firsthand how every second matters in an emergency situation.

“We didn’t know if he was going to make it,” explained Courtney Tarab. “To have the best possible care through the transportation just to get here and to save his life, I can’t even explain it as a parent.”

More than 1,500 sick kids are transported to Vidant Memorial Hospital every year in order to receive specialty care.
