Community members in Washington hosted a watch party Tuesday, ready and excited to see if their city made the top five for the Hulu show “Small Business Revolution.”
It has been a long process for the folks in Washington. First, they were in the top 20, out of more than 12,000 cities and towns across the country.
“We want to represent all of North Carolina and show them what a great community we are and what a great town we are,” said small business owner Rebecca Clark.
Washington then made it into the top 10, and with that came a visit from the cast and crew from the show – all leading up to this point, the top five; however, this year the top six.
After weeks of anticipation, Washington made the cut.
Community members say this has been the moment they have been waiting for for a long time.
“This has been a dream of mine at least for the last two years, since I found the Small Business Revolution online and started watching the show,” said Thad Aley.
Now Washington is only one step away from the $500,000 makeover.
“We really worked so hard, we all came together as a community and it was just a lot of fun, and now we get to share our fun with everybody in North Carolina.”
