MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WNCT) – The threat of bad weather made for a very quiet second day of the 57th annual Big Rock-Blue Marlin tournament off the coast of Morehead City.
Only four of the 149 boats entered into the tournament ventured out on Tuesday because of the threat of bad storms in the afternoon. No blues were boated on the second day of the tournament.
That means the Monday catch by the Viking 62 of 680 pounds continues as the tournament leader. The Carly A is in second place at 504.3. Shenandoah is third at 503.6 and Callie Girl is fourth at 481.3.
The tournament continues on Wednesday and concludes on Saturday. All boats have six days to fish four of them in the competition.
