Winterville Parkway reopened after Wednesday morning crash

News

WINTERVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Highway 11 in Winterville has reopened after a morning crash shut down all lanes of traffic.

Southbound lanes have already opened on the Winterville Parkway, near the intersection with Davenport Farm Road. That’s near the Handy Mart, Mayflower Seafood, and Fred’s Food Club.

It happened just after 5:30 Wednesday morning.

WNCT’s Connor Kick found a truck in the ditch and traffic lights are down across northbound lanes of Highway 11 when he arrived on the scene just before 6 a.m. The truck apparently hit a telephone pole during the crash, taking down traffic lights across the northbound lanes of the busy road. That truck has since been removed.

Along with emergency personnel, crews from Greenville Utilities responded to the scene to repair damage at the intersection. Police were also on scene to redirect traffic.

The cause of the crash has not been released, but police said there were no injuries. A witness at the scene told 9 On Your Side that they were unable to locate the person operating the vehicle.

We’ll have additional details as they become available.
