You can now buy airline tickets with monthly payments

COLUMBUS (WCMH) – It’s no secret that it’s never cheap to fly. That’s why one company is now helping you pay for your airfare over time. is teaming up with Affirm to allow fliers pay for their plane tickets in monthly installments, CNN Money reports. When you check out, you’ll be able to select a three, six or 12-month purchase plan to cover your airfare.

You’ll still have to provide personal information, including your social security number, but it won’t impact your credit score. What it will impact is the total price of the airfare.

Based on your credit score, you’ll pay between 10%-30% APR on top of the airfare.’s CEO Jeff Klee says there’s no limit on how many tickets you finance. The only requirement is that the tickets must have a base price of $100 or more.

“When you want to take a vacation, it’s a lot of money to put up out front and you might not be able to manage it all at once,” said Klee. “Spreading it out … makes it become more easy to manage.”

Airfares overall have actually been going down this year thanks to lower fuel prices and more capacity. Airfare prediction app Hopper predicts domestic tickets will decrease another 8.2% to hit an average of $213 by October.
