Greenville, N.C. (WNCT) – Greenville, N.C. (WNCT) – GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) WNCT 9 On Your Side is partnering with the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina for an adoption series we’re calling “A Loving Home.”
Every Tuesday at 5 p.m. Anchor Angie Quezada will profile a different child looking for a family to call their own.
Chris is funny, bright, and has a real outgoing personality. He’s a special teenager who is eager to make his dreams a reality.
Chris may be in high school, but he’s keeping his eyes on the future, planning different ways to build his resume for his ultimate dream.
“I’m going for my Bachelors in Marine Biology, just to have something to fall back on,” says Chris.
He also expressed interest in completing his Masters degree, and perfecting mixed martial arts.
Chris says he hopes to join the military, to prepare him for his ultimate goal.
“I’m going into the CIA, I’m going to the military, then I’m going into the CIA. I want to be a field operator,” he says.
Brooke Spivey has been working with Chris for little over a year now.
“He’s at that age he wants to work, he’s starting to prepare for his future and think about what he wants to do. And he’s setting good goals for himself. I say he’s on the right track, ” Spivey says.
Chris is a hard worker and always willing to help.
Spivey says Chris would do well in a two parent or single family home. But hopes he will have an adult-male figure present.
“It would be nice to have some sort of male figure there, a cousin, uncle, or mentor, just to help guide him,” says Spivey.
Chris explains that at his age, it is critical for him to find his forever family.
“Going through college and high school is the biggest stress, scientifically proven, it’s the biggest stress in your life because your thinking about so much. Like am I going to get accepted? Or is this going to happen to me in life? You just need to know that everything is going to be alright. And that’s important, ” Chris says.
He would also love to have siblings and enjoys family time.
