A Loving Home: Emilee

A Loving Home

Karen Gettman has been working with 16-year-old Emilee for almost two years. She knows firsthand, the desire Emilee has to be in a loving home. Gettman even got emotional when asked about Emilee finding her forever family.

It would just make me so happy, it would mean everything, adds Gettman.

Emilee agrees and says she needs that stability only a family can bring. She admits that it’s been very frustrating, and she’s battled with feeling unwanted.

She deserves it, you know. She’s been in the system for no fault of her own, she just deserves more, says Gettman.

Emilee is a social butterfly, compassionate, very caring and loving. Emilee also aspires of becoming a chef one day.

She’s getting to that age where she’s going to need somebody to help her, learn what it’s like to be an adult, to give her that support that she will need as she gets older and becomes an adult, explains Gettman.

Emilee’s ideal family can be either a two-parent home, or single-parent home, and she adds that she’s open to either or.

If you get me and I do have problems, I still don’t want you to give up, I want you somebody to work with me, Emillee pleads.

Gettman also adds,  she is a teenage girl so there will be some struggles so there will be some struggles, but she brings so much more than that. She is so pleasant and friendly and helpful, and fun. She’ll make you laugh. She’s just really a cool kid.
