14 arrested in Pamlico County drug operation

The Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office made 14 arrests and has issued 44 warrants after an operation into the distribution of illegal narcotics.

On Tuesday, deputies concluded an operation into the distribution of illegal narcotics in Pamlico County.

As part of the operation, undercover officers conducted controlled purchases of drugs, conducted traffic stops and executed search warrants at residences.

The operation concluded with the arrest of 14 criminal suspects and 44 felony warrants.

Deputies said they found cocaine, heroin, prescription medication and marijuana. 

Adrian V. Mattocks of Oriental was charged with:

  • Possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine
  • Maintaining a vehicle for the sale of controlled substances
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Mattocks was given a $75,000 bond.

Troy L. Carawan of Stonewall was charged with three counts of trafficking opium.

Carawan was given a $100,000 bond.

Christopher L. Taylor of Bayboro was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver controlled substances and conspiring to sell and deliver controlled substances. 

Taylor was given a $9,000 bond.

Jerry J. Willis of Alliance was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.

Willis was given a $6,000 bond.

Theodore Edwards of Bayboro was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.

Edwards was given a $10,000 bond.

Micheal J. Lloyd of Grantsboro was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lloyd was given a $10,000 bond.

O’Dell Anthony of Bayboro was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine.

Anthony was given a $30,000 bond.

Deondre L. Greene of Bayboro was charged with six counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and six counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Greene was given a $20,000 bond.

Justin R. Veith was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver controlled substances.

Veith was given a $30,000 bond.

Emily I. Herring of Grantsboro was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and conspiring to sell and deliver heroin.

Herring was given a $200,000 bond.

Kelsey N. Ipock of Grantsboro was charged with:

  • Two counts of sell and deliver cocaine
  • Two counts of conspiring to sell and deliver cocaine
  • Child neglect

Ipock was given a $15,000 bond.

Mark A. Paul of Grantsboro was charged with two counts of sell and deliver controlled substances and two counts of conspiring to sell and deliver controlled substances.

Paul was given a $30,000 bond.

Derrick W. Wood of New Bern was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin.

Wood was given a $25,000 bond.

Celestrial J. Butler of Bayboro was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon.

Butler was given a $5,000 bond.
