Deputies said the case of a mother and daughter found dead in the bathroom of a Pikeville home is being investigated as a possible “murder-suicide” or a “suicide pact”.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said that autopsies have been performed and the results indicate that both victims died as a result of gunshot wounds to the chest.

At the moment, deputies are not actively looking at any other person being involved in the case.

There is no evidence that a third person is involved, deputies said.

According to deputies, all evidence gained so far indicates that it was either a murder-suicide or both had a suicide pact and they carried out their plans.
