Five men arrested in drug bust in Kinston

Five men were arrested on multiple charges after a drug bust Friday at a house in Kinston.

On Friday, Lenoir County Sheriff’s deputies executed arrest warrants and a search warrant at a home at 857 Tyree Road in Kinston, as part of a narcotics investigation conducted by the Narcotics Unit.

Deputies said they arrested two suspects running away outside the house and arrested three other men inside the home who were wanted on other charges unrelated to the drug investigation.

At the house, investigators said they seized approximately 245 grams of marijuana and found drug paraphernalia items consistent with distributing controlled substances.

The following suspects were arrested and charged during this investigation:

Rashard Jamal O’Neil was charged with Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver Marijuana, and a warrant out of Lenoir County for a Probation Violation. 

O’Neil is being held in the Lenoir County Detention Facility on a $25,000 bond.

Hakeem Jerkins was charged with Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver Marijuana, and multiple warrants out of Lenoir, Wayne and Pitt Counties for two counts of Failure to Appear to Court, Speeding and Driving While License Revoked, Child Abuse and Assault on a Female.

Jerkins is being held in the Lenoir County Detention Facility on a $13,000 bond.

Michael Laphonte Jones was charged with Resisting Delaying and Obstructing an Officer, Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver Marijuana, and a warrant out of Lenoir County on a charge of Second Degree Trespassing.

Jones is being held in the Lenoir County Detention Facility on a $7,000 bond.

Na’Keem Ra’Quall Moore was charged with Failing to Appear to Court on a No Operators License and Failing to Display Registration.

Moore is being held in the Lenoir County Detention Facility on a $1,000 bond.

Kenji Jenkins Jr. was arrested on a warrant out of Pitt County for Domestic Assault on a Female.

Jerkins Jr. was taken before a magistrate and placed in the Lenoir County Detention Facility under a 48-hour hold and no bond.
