A Goldsboro mother is facing a felony child abuse charge after an infant was seriously injured, police say.

The incident was reported on April 11 as abuse involving an infant, according to a news release from Goldsboro police.

After an investigation, Talisha Taylor, the mother of the infant child was arrested Monday, the news release said.

The baby was hospitalized for about a week for treatment of serious injuries, officials said.

Taylor was arrested without incident in the 700 block East Elm Street in Goldsboro. 

Taylor is being held in the Wayne County Detention Center on an $18,000 secured bond.

She has a first court appearance scheduled for Tuesday.
