A Kinston man was found guilty of various charges related to the Pit Stop Bar murder in 2016.

On March 19, Justin L. Lynch was found guilty of first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s office said the incident involved two suspects that went to the Pit Stop Bar on HWY 11 North and start shooting two persons during a robbery.

One of the victims was identified as Chad Bostic who died from a gunshot wound, police said.

Lynch was sentenced to life in prison.

“This was the first suspect that has been tried in this heinous murder,” said Sheriff Ronnie Ingram. “We are still saddened for the victims family, but now they and the community know that our deputies and detectives pieced together each piece of evidence that led to this conviction. We hope this may help bring some small amount of closure to the family now that the person who killed their loved one has been brought to justice and will serve the time for this crime.”
