A Washington, N.C. man was arrested after a drug investigation that ended with him throwing cocaine out of his car during a police chase.
On March 22, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Omar Blount, 37, of 621 Plymouth Street in Washington.
Investigators said Blount sold cocaine to undercover agents, and sheriff’s deputies then tried to stop his vehicle in the city limits of Washington.
Blount did not stop and led deputies on a chase through Washington, throwing cocaine out of his car window during the pursuit.
Deputies eventually stopped Blount’s car and arrested him.
Inside Blount’s car, deputies found a vacuum sealed bag containing marijuana, and they also collected the cocaine Blount had thrown out of his car on Respess Street.
Blount was charged with 6 counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Felony Flee to Elude Arrest, and Driving while License Revoked.
Blount is being held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.
