Man arrested with drugs, gun, $13.5K in fake money in Lenoir County traffic stop

A Lenoir County man was arrested and charged with drug, gun and forgery crimes after a traffic stop on Monday in Kinston.

On May 13, the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office says detectives of the Community Crime Reduction Team conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Traquan Devontae Williams.

Inside Williams’ vehicle, detectives found 126 grams of marijuana, 8 grams of crack cocaine, 8 grams of powder cocaine, $13,500.00 in counterfeit currency, and a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber handgun.

Williams was arrested and charged with one count of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Carrying a Concealed Gun and one count of felony Forgery of an Instrument.

He was taken to the W.E. Smith Detention Facility and was released after posting a bond of $50,000.
