Probation absconder arrested after car chase in Craven County

A probation absconder has been arrested after authorities conducted a car chase in Craven County.

The Craven County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Jonestown and Old Mill roads in the Dover area in reference to assisting the North Carolina State Highway Patrol with a motor vehicle chase on Tuesday around 7 p.m.

Deputies said that Logan Ray Potter, 25, of Kinston, failed to stop for troopers.

The vehicle chase went down N.C. 55 Highway before Potter wrecked his vehicle on Old Mill Road, deputies said.

Deputies said that Potter fled from the vehicle accident into the woods and after a search was located behind a residence on Jonestown Road.

Potter was an absconder from probation for felony possession of a stolen vehicle and also faces additional charges related to the vehicle chase to include felony fleeing to elude arrest, deputies said.
