Two victims identified after early morning shooting in New Bern

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) - The New Bern Police Department has identified the two victims of a shooting that occurred in New Bern Saturday morning.

The victims were identified as Carzell Raynor Jr., 21, of Dover, and Devin Bryant, 21, of Cove City.

Police are still investigating the case.

New Bern Police Department responded to a shots fired call  just after midnight along the 3200 block of Neuse Blvd on Saturday morning.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of Howling Dog Saloon 69.

When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered two people had been shot. Both were transported to Carolina East Medical Center in a private vehicle.

The two, 21-year old men were then airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Both are currently in stable condition.

This is not the first the parking lot has had criminal activity. Back in May 2017, a 22-year-old was shot to death in the same location.

Officials say they are keeping a close eye on the area.

"We maintain a place to work, live and visit in safe environment," said Lt. David Daniels, "That is one area we pay attention to. That is what we do with all of our overnight establishments."

Crime stoppers is offering a $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
