UPDATE: Suspect wanted in Blount Street shooting turns himself in

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) –  The suspect wanted in connection to a Greenville shooting turned himself into authorities Saturday evening.

Deshawn Davis turned himself into the Pitt County Magistrate’s Office. Davis faces numerous charges, including assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon.

The Greenville Police Department is trying to locate a suspect wanted in a Blount Street shooting.

Deputies have identified the suspect but at the moment he remains at large.

The police is withholding the name of the suspect as they are currently investigating the case.

The victim has been identified as Dante Peterson and was transported to the Vidant Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries after an early morning shooting near Blount Street in Greenville.

The police said the shooting was the result of a family dispute.

The call came in around 5am.

The case remains under investigation with Greenville Police.
