More Touchdown Friday

True freshman quarterback Holton Ahlers took all of his snaps at practice today and will play against UConn, despite an injury to his non-throwing hand.

Ahlers injured his pinkie finger early in Saturday night’s 24-18 loss at Tulane. He played the entire game and said it really wasn’t an issue.

“It’s sore but that’s just football,” said Ahlers after today’s practice. “I’m good to go.”

“We were worried coming into the week,” said Pirate coach Scottie Montgomery. “But Holton came out and didn’t miss a beat. He had a great practice.

East Carolina is an 18-point favorite to beat UConn on Saturday night.
