ECU starting quarterback Reid Herring practiced Wednesday and will start for the Pirates on Saturday against ODU according to head coach Scottie Montgomery.
“He took all the snaps today,” said Montgomery after Wednesday’s practice. “He looked good but I would expect we’ll see another quarterback as well.”
That “other” quarterback has been former Conley star Holton Ahlers during the last two games. The true freshman scored the Pirate’s only touchdown in the 20-13 loss to USF last Saturday.
Herring had been hampered by a bad ankle, but it didn’t seem to bother him at practice today.
ECU hosts Old Dominion on Saturday at 3:30pm at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
