More Touchdown Friday

Another night, and another hit off the bat of former D.H. Conley star Bryant Packard.

For the sixth straight game Packard picked up a hit in his first at bat of the night, sparing us all from any dramatics as he inched closer to the school’s record for longest hitting streak.

Packard singled through the right side in his first at bat in ECU’s 12-7 win over Campbell on Tuesday night. That moved his current streak to 29 consecutive games with a hit, tying Stephen Batts’ mark from 2007.

“It’s really cool,” said Packard after the game Tuesday night. “The first at bat of a game you usually get fast balls, but he actually hung a curve ball so I jumped on it. It actually helps with Dwanya hitting behind me because you know he’s a a big threat.”

East Carolina visits UConn for this regular season ending three game series starting Thursday at 1pm.
