East Carolina star Bryant Packard remembers the first time Clark-LeClair Stadium hosted an NCAA Regional.

He was in attendance as a youngster, and watched first hand as the Pirates came back to beat South Carolina and win the Greenville Regional championship.

Now, Packard has a chance to be a part of another title.

“It’s awesome, because I was here in 2009 watching that South Carolina game,” said Packard. “Now I get to live it and experience it. It means a lot to me.”

Packard recalled all of the details on one of the biggest nights in Pirate baseball history.

“I remember Jackie Bradley Jr hitting the home run and Devin Harris hitting the home run and then walking off,” said Packard. “You dream about that as a little kids. It’s awesome.”

Packard saw just how juiced the stadium can get.

“I think it will be even bigger this time out,” Packard concluded.

East Carolina opens the Greenville Regional on Friday night at 7:00pm against UNC Wilmington.
