East Carolina’s baseball program wrapped up another successful “Mustache March” with a big shave off Monday afternoon at Clark-LeClair Stadium.

The Pirates raised over $10,000 dollars for ALS awareness and research in 2017. In three years the program has raised over $21,000 for the cause.

“The guys really enjoy it each year,” said Pirate coach Cliff Godwin. “We teamed up with Memphis this year and it was our best year yet.”

Lefty reliever Ryan Ross sported the best mustache, though he was pushed by West Covington and Andrew Henrickson.

Former Pirate 2nd baseman Charlie Yorgen came up with the idea of “Mustache March” three years ago as a way to honor former ECU Coach Keith LeClair, who lost his courageous battle with ALS back in 2006.
