Farmville Central hires Eddie Rhodes as varsity football coach

Farmville Central High School announced that former baseball coach, Eddie Rhodes has been named the Jaguars next varsity football coach. Rhodes led the Jaguar baseball team from 2005-2018 where he recorded 200 wins and three conference titles.

Rhodes has not coached football at the varsity level in 20 years. His last head coaching job was leading the D.H. Conley Vikings from 1991-1997. While at Conley, Rhodes led the Vikings to a conference championship in 1994 and made three consecutive playoff apperances. 

Since then Rhodes hasn’t completley left football. He coached at the JV and middle school levels for many years including leading the A.G. Cox Middle School team from 2016-2018. 

The Farmville Central Jaguars are coming off a 3-8 season led by former coach Scott Gardner. Gardner will remain teaching at the school.
