East Carolina’s Pirates hit the practice field for the first time this fall in full gear on Wednesday afternoon.
A day after expressing concern over some issues in the running game, Pirate Coach Scottie Montgomery was glad to see that the Pirates able to make better adjustments as they practiced in the Cliff Moore Practice Facility for the fifth time.
The coaching staff also stressed the offense and defense with what Montgomery called “a great period of red zone” work. The offense ended up winning the series 2-1.
“Our ones and our twos are very close,” he said. “The first time we scored in a few plays. The second time we didn’t get any yards. Defensively, I think we’re continuing to grow.”
