The storm brought winds of up to 80 mph (130 km per hour) in Burriana, knocking over trees, lampposts, and walls, according to local reports. New Bern is changing some of its dog ordinances to put more responsibility on the dog owners. New Bern Police Chief Patrick Gallagher says dog owners will now be held more accountable if their dog attacks another dog or person. Adrianna Hargrove has more on this.

Smoke From Canadian Wildfires Darkens Sky in Greenland A resident in Nuuk, Greenland, was surprised by a dark sky early on Monday, September 25, which the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) later put down to smoke from Canadian wildfires drifting across the territory. State media cited the DMI as saying “smoke from forest fires in Canada […] colored the sky over Greenland dark with greenish and yellowish hues.” The DMI told national broadcaster KNR that the smoke would remain over Greenland until at least Wednesday.
